Meet Zain Mahmood | Fabian Group CEO

Meet Zain Mahmood, Fabian Group’s Chief Executive Officer

We are pleased to announce that Zain Mahmood, who has served as Interim CEO since July 2026, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer on a permanent basis.

Zain brings more than 25 years of P&L and executive leadership experience across manufacturing, distribution, sales, engineering, strategy, and supply chain operations. He has led privately held and private equity-backed businesses through transformation and growth, with experience in margin expansion, working capital improvement, organizational development, and building scalable operations.

His background includes senior leadership roles with AlliedSignal, ABB, Johns Manville, Parkson, W.R. Grace/GCP, ICP Group, and US Cabinet Depot, as well as board and advisory experience.

As CEO, Zain will lead Fabian Group and its family of brands through the company’s next phase of growth and development. We asked him to share his perspective on a few of the topics that matter most to our customers and partners.

After working inside the business as Interim CEO, what have you learned about Fabian Group that gives you confidence in its foundation and long-term growth potential?

Across both the formalwear and uniforms segments, Fabian Group holds a trusted position with customers and suppliers built over decades, not months. That reputation rests on three pillars: consistent quality, design integrity, and a track record of long-term value—the kind of relationship capital that’s difficult for competitors to replicate and expensive to rebuild once lost.

In a fragmented industry, this brand equity is a genuine differentiator, not a talking point. What working inside the business confirmed is that this goodwill is still active, not historical. Customers want to keep doing business with Fabian Group. Vendor conversations and account relationships bear that out. That’s a meaningfully different starting position than a turnaround where the brand itself is the problem. I am truly impressed with the Fabian team that continues to fly the Fabian flag proudly.

What tangible improvements should customers expect to see from Fabian Group during your first year as permanent CEO?

Customers should expect to see the investments already underway move from “in progress” to “fully realized,” with measurable, visible improvements across service, product, and reliability.

  • Faster, more transparent service: The self-service portals currently live with our larger accounts will expand to more of our customer base, giving real-time visibility into orders and inventory without the wait. Paired with stronger talent now in place across sales, supply chain, and operations, customers will notice faster response times and account teams who anticipate needs rather than react to them.
  • More consistent product availability: Our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process is already reducing demand variability and improving availability. In year one, customers should see that translate into fewer stockouts, more reliable lead times, and fewer surprises at order time.
  • A sharper, more relevant formalwear assortment: Rental customers will see product built for durability and faster turn; retail partners will see more curated, on-trend inventory rather than static legacy lines. This is where our 100-year design heritage meets real discipline about what the market is actually buying.
  • A stronger, more stable partner: Underlying all of this is the balance sheet and organizational work that ensures Fabian Group isn’t just improving the customer experience but is financially positioned to sustain it for the long haul. Customers will feel its effects in consistency: a supplier they can count on for the long term, not just the next order.
